Looking For A Toilet In Vietnam? Use This Toilet Finder App

Once in awhile we stumble upon some fun apps that are coming out of the hidden ethers of Vietnam’s tech world. Here’s a doozy: find the nearest toilet in Vietnam.

If you’re a fan of Seinfeld or Curb Your Enthusiasm, you probably remember when George Costanza came up with the idea for the iToilet , an iPhone app that could find the nearest clean and usable public toilet. Baik, that idea has finally come to Vietnam.

The app, which is only available for Android so far, with an English and a Vietnamese version, pulls the data from Google’s servers and uses GPS to tell the user where to go. So wherever you are, you can find a toilet to your liking. In a country like Vietnam, where many tourists have complained about the state of toilets across the country, it’s pretty useful.

But the coolest thing about this app is it’s made by a 17-year-old guy who hasn’t even graduated from high school yet. Sebenarnya, he’s testing into university in the next few months. I mean, after all, toilet apps are all over the place, right?

Tran Diep Bang has already released four apps in total, and he’s clearly the kind of young hacker that Vietnam wants: independently minded and eager to try new stuff. When I mentioned him, he went apeshit. He’s one of the many young hackers we see out in Vietnam who represent a promising future for the country. If you’re a startup in Vietnam looking for an intern, here’s your guy.

You can check out the English version of the Android app di sini , or the Vietnamese version di sini.
